The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources & Forestry, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, required a Proof of Concept (POC) to modernize contact management, bulk incident reporting, and public complaint submission processes. This solution integrated Salesforce Public Sector Foundation and MuleSoft with their existing Digital Compliance Platform (DCP) to streamline operations and enhance user experience.

       Goals

Streamline Contact Management:
Enable organizational administrators to efficiently manage contacts and profiles with Ministry oversight.

Enhance Reporting Capabilities:
Provide paramedic services with tools for bulk incident reporting and real-time tracking.

Simplify Public Complaint Submission:
Develop a user-friendly portal for the public to submit and track complaints, ensuring transparency and accountability.

       Approach

Integration with MuleSoft:
Developed a middle layer to connect Salesforce with the Digital Compliance Platform (DCP).

Functional POC Development:

    • Built self-service contact management tools with real-time Ministry approvals.
    • Designed an online interface for paramedic services to submit bulk incident reports.
    • Created a public-facing complaints portal for anonymous or registered submissions.

Real-Time Triage and Assessment:
Enabled Ministry field offices and the Investigation Services Unit (ISU) to receive, assess, and manage reports and complaints seamlessly.

       Results

Improved Administrative Efficiency:
Simplified contact and incident management reduced manual workload for the Ministry.

Enhanced Public Access:
A transparent and accessible complaints portal empowered citizens to engage with the Ministry more effectively.

Seamless Data Flow:
